This past Friday, we brought our team over to Escape Routes in Lynnwood for some much-needed team bonding time! We chose an escape room called The Cell, where the goal was to solve puzzles and find clues to escape. The puzzles were challenging and really made us put our thinking caps on, and because they were so challenging, we felt very accomplished with each one we figured out! Our team was given an hour to solve all the clues and escape, and in the end, we were only one clue away from getting out of there. Overall, it was a very fun experience to be able to share with the team and we hope to be able to go back to try their other rooms someday!
Nowadays, many companies and corporations are taking part of planned team building events. TeamBonding.Com posted an article on their website last year highlighting several benefits of team bonding. Some of these reasons include:
1. Networking, socializing, and getting to know each other better.
Socializing and making friends in the workplace is one of the best ways to increase productivity in the office. Not only does it increase morale in the office, it also allows for the office to work better solving everyday workplace issues.
2. Teamwork and boosting team performance.
Team bonding activities also improve workplace projects that involve teamwork. After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This understanding helps them work even better together on future progress vital to a company.
3. Celebration, team spirit, fun, and motivation.
After any sports team wins a major championship, they celebrate and have fun. This motivates them to want to win even more. This extreme example shows that the celebration, cheering, and fun that come with every team bonding event can motivate employees to bring their job to the next level.
4. Communication and working better together.
To no surprise, communication and working better together is the top reason why people choose team building. Everybody wants a friendly work environment, where people are comfortable and happy to talk to and work with anyone.
